Introducing Herculaneum Quay, with drone footage from February 2020

We are delighted to announce that this week will mark the final 12 weeks of one of the most prestigious property developments in the North-west. Herculaneum Quay (HQ) is a unique Waterfront complex which comprises of 120 luxurious residential units.

You may wonder what makes this specific complex so unique; this is the only residential development in Liverpool that provides its residents with their very own private spa pool, along with a relaxation area, exclusive gym and three levels of secure, well-lit underground parking.

Residents can also enjoy taking a stroll, jog or cycle down the accessible public riverside walking and cycle routes outside of the development which lead directly into the City Centre.

As HQ resides just 20 metres from the River Mersey, residents of this breath-taking waterfront development better be ready to enjoy undisturbed views of the iconic River Mersey and the Liverpool City skyline from the comfort of their very own home with built-in floor to ceiling windows.

There are many off-plan developments which can appear to be perfect on paper to developers and investors, often they are, but unfortunately, many will never cease to exist on the streets of Liverpool. These developments almost always share one common denominator, and this is the financing.

However, with Herculaneum Quay, there is no concern of this for investors as this development is 100% fully funded from now until completion.

A Brief History of Herculaneum Quay

The block’s first developer went into administration in 2007, and since, has undergone multiple take-overs from developers as a result of financial difficulties.

Fast forward to 2015, when the site was bought by a local developer to which the site made sizeable leaps through its development for 3 year, it unfortunately stalled in 2018, once more after the financial lender, Lendy put the site into administration following its own administration as a lender at no fault of the developer or investors.

Nobody could have predicted what would follow this final setback, when the investors inspiringly teamed together to form Herculaneum Quay Investors (HQI). HQI then acquired the block from the administrators and sourced its own financing to completion from a private investor not a lender to deliver this astounding apartment complex once and for all.

So here we are, 13 years later, with the building just 12 weeks away from completion. It is undeniable that this complex is nothing short of unique.

Whether that’s because of its unrivalled features and location, or the resilience and heart of its investors to finally have this sensational building stand as part of the eye-catching Liverpool Waterfront, where most other developments would have never gotten so far.

Location

If you ever head down to Herculaneum Quay for a site visit, the first thing you’ll notice is that the building is built just yards away from the riverbank. Cycle and walking paths head along the riverbank taking you straight into the CityCentre.

Along the way, you could pop in for a visit to The Yacht Club bar & restaurant and watch the yachts and sailboats docked in Liverpool Marina while you enjoy a bite to eat and a cool glass of wine.

Another famous landmark just minutes away is the historic Royal Albert Dock. Having survived devastating damage at the hands of German bombers during World War II, the remaining Grade I listed warehouses are now home to coffee shops, maritime museums, gift shops and restaurants. The area is a major tourist attraction all year round and often hosts entertainment events and exhibitions in its many museums.

If walking or cycling isn’t for you, Brunswick railway station is located just across the road from HQ where you can take a quick 2-minute train journey into LiverpoolCity Centre where you’ll find many of the city’s best restaurants, theatres, tourist attractions and the famous Pier Head World Heritage Site.

LiverpoolOne is just minutes away and is the city’s premier shopping destination with over 170 bars, restaurants and shops including Armani Exchange, Victoria’sSecret, John Lewis, Harvey Nichols and Goldsmiths Jewellers.

If city life isn’t for you, heading the opposite direction from Herculaneum Quay will take you to Otterspool Promenade where you can enjoy a stroll in the park and enjoy its vast array of green space. Perfect for walking the dog or going for a morning run.

Go a little further and you’ll find Sefton Park, which is Liverpool’s largest open green parkland. Adorned with bicycle and walking paths this spot is very popular with runners, cyclists and family picnics. The park often hosts events such as music and food festivals as well as the annual fireworks display.

As previously mentioned, HQ itself allows its residents to enjoy some of the most amazing undisturbed river views in the whole of Liverpool, and since the local council have stricken any more residential buildings to be developed in the area, this building is all the more unique.
